Sunday, August 24 marks the 18th running of the $1 Million Pacific Classic at Del Mar. There are 11 races carded for the big day with a first post time of 2:00 p.m. The Pacific Classic has a scheduled post time of 6:45 p.m. and is one of 4 stakes races on the card.

A large field is expected to run in the Pacific Classic including defending champion Student Council, 2nd place finisher Awesome Gem, San Diego Handicap winner Well Armed, Hollywood Gold Cup winner Mast Track and million-dollar earner Surf Cat.

The $1 Million Guaranteed Pick 6 on the day's final six races headlines the wagering menu that includes a $500,000 guaranteed Pick 4. Last year's Pick 6 payoff was a whopping $286,534! Look for early Del Mar Pick 6 past performances in the Saturday Daily Racing Form.

In addition to the Grade I Pacific Classic, the card includes the Grade III Rancho Bernardo Handicap, the Grade II Pat O'Brien Handicap and the Grade II Del Mar Mile. All four races are part of the Breeders' Cup Challenge "Win and You're In" series which automatically guarantees each winner an entry in the Breeders' Cup.
