2012 Award Winners

Every year the Sonoma County Fair and the Western Fair Association are proud to recognize those individuals within our community that make an impact. The recipients have shown support to the Fair and local communities through their knowledge, phlianthropy and accomplishments.

The Western Fair Association's Blue Ribbon Award

The Western Fair Association's Blue Ribbon Award recognizes those individuals or groups who have provided outstanding support to the Fair industry. Honorees are often volunteers, sponsors or educators.

American Agcredit is a long-time supporter, with a particular focus on the Livestock Area and Farmer's Day. It is a generous sponsor of Sweet Lil's Farmery, an interactive exhibit that offers Fairgoers an experience of "life on the farm". American AgCredit is the sixth largest farm credit cooperative in the nation and provides lending and other financial services to farmers, ranchers, agribusinesses and rural homeowners.

June Bertoni has been teh "Fur & Feathers" Building Superintendent since 1977. As a young girl, she went all the way through 4-H, with accomplishments including 4-H All Star. After graduating from high school, June continued to show in the Open Division. She was involved in many other projects, as well, including clothing, foods and electricity.

This year the Sonoma County Fair was delighted to present Blue Ribbon Awards to American AgCredit and June Bertoni for their continuing support of and contributions to the overall succcess of the Fair.

Pat Emery

The Sonoma County Fair honors Pat Emery's dedication and support of the Fair for more than 20 years with the 2012 Guidebook Dedication. Pat was appointed to the Sonoma County Fair board of directors in 1989 and served on the fair board until 1997. He was judicious, fairminded and always led the way to do what was right for the fair.

The 2012 Sonoma County Fair sees it as a perfect fit to dedicate this year's Hall of Flowers to Peggy Leiser, with deep appreciation for her long history of commitment and support.
