Grape STOMP at the Sonoma County Fair!

Grape Stomping makes its debut at the Fair
It not too late to sign up!
You can still sign up to Stomp on the spot at the Fair! Plan to arrive at the Stomp Stage (next to the Honky Tonk Saloon) at least 30 minutes before you want to stomp.
- Grape Stomp Times:
- Saturday, August 13: 2:00, 4:00, 6:30
- Sunday, August 14: 1:00, 2:30 (Ages 12 & under only), 4:00
For the first time, preliminary rounds for the World Championship Grape Stomp will be held at the Sonoma County Fair. Winners go on to the finals at the Sonoma County Harvest Fair on Oct. 4 to compete for the title and the grand prize of $1,500!
Stomps take place on Saturday, Aug. 13 and Sunday, Aug. 14. All ages are encouraged to stomp; there's even a Stomp reserved just for those 12 years old and under (on August 14). Kids can compete in any stomp, but the Kids Stomp is reserved just for them. If you are 4 years old and want your dad to be your partner, you will compete in an Open Stomp. If you want to compete with your twin sister, you qualify for the Kids Stomp.

Are you a ''stomper'' or a ''swabby''? If you have no idea what we're talking about, make this your year to find out. In fact, make this your year to participate in the World Championship Grape Stomp-you might just win $1,500! Stompers and swabbies come in teams, so grab a friend and consider the following:

- Stomper – One who stands in a barrel full of grapes and uses their feet to squish out the juice.
- Swabby – One who stands below a barrel full of grapes while a stomper is stomping and makes sure nothing stops the grape juice from getting into the jug.
Another crucial, though not mandatory, aspect of every Grape Stomp is the costume competition. Acostume contest precedes each qualifying round, and teams can get as creative as they want. Past costumes include: Lucy and Ethel; clusters of grapes, super heroes and bridal party members. Sponsored teams often wear t-shirts with the company logo.
