Ava McCarthy has been crowned Miss Wine Country Rodeo 2024, earning the right to represent the Sonoma County Fair at events statewide and taking home a $1,000 scholarship and commemorative belt buckle.
Ava is 17 and a Sonoma County native. She's passionate about rodeo and ecstatic about the opportunity to represent the Sonoma County Fair and the Wine Country Rodeo.
Ava was selected for the honor based on excellent skills in horsemanship, a personal interview, as well as prepared and impromptu public speaking. As 2024 Miss Wine Country Rodeo, she will preside over the Sonoma County Fair Rodeo, Farmers Day, and other community events.

Meet Jody Carper, the 2024 Wine Country Rodeo announcer with a lifelong passion for rodeo. Growing up in Big Spring, Texas, Jody immersed himself in the rodeo culture, competing in junior and high school events before transitioning to announcing. With a career spanning over 29 US states and Canada, he has been honored as a 9-time National Finals Steer Roping announcer and a 2-time NFR Open announcer. After earning his PRCA card and competing in the pro rodeo circuit, Jody found his true calling behind the mic.
Now based in California with his wife Kelli, Jody continues to bring the excitement and spirit of rodeo to fans everywhere. Get ready for an unforgettable rodeo experience with Jody Carper at the helm!
